Dodson Fine Art
- The Magical Art of Possibility -
Krista
Dodson has been a fine artist since her college years at the University
of California, Santa Barbara. Her first artistic passion was the
rendering of outer space, envisioning on canvas her notion of what
lies beyond view and comprehension. Her early work, fanciful visions
of planetscapes and imaginary scenes of outer space, attracted the
notice of the Geddes Company, which commissioned her as a products-image
designer, as well as the Kolinar Corporation which commissioned
her work for bookcover design. After meeting her future husband,
Daniel, they developed techniques that make possible their original
paintings on metal. Krista uses both traditional brushes and airbrushes
on Dodson originals. Over the years, she has studied under renowned
artists: Vargas Award winner Michael Cacy; NASA technical illustrator
Raymond Wilson; abstractionist Judith Hale; Mexican surrealist Gerardo
Amor.
